Madison Freed

Madison Freed Clarinet - Bass Clarinet
Madison Freed is a clarinetist based in Chicago, IL. She holds the position of 3rd and bass clarinet with the Illinois Symphony and has performed with the Regina Opera Company (NYC), Adelphi Chamber Orchestra (NJ), and the International Contemporary Ensemble. Madison has spent summers at both the Brevard Music Center and the Aspen Music Festival. As a young musician, she had the privilege to tour extensively, and has performed in Vienna, Budapest, London, Moscow, and St. Petersburg with the Boston Youth Symphony and the National Youth Symphony of the United States. Also a passionate educator, Madison spent the year following her undergraduate degree as an AmeriCorps ArtistYear teaching artist fellow serving K-8 general music students in Philadelphia. She holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music (BM, 2017) and Northwestern University (MM, 2021). Her primary teachers are Mark Miller, Jon Manasse, Steve Cohen, and Mark Nuccio.
