The Illinois Symphony Orchestra Guild of Bloomington-Normal will soon hold its annual private lesson scholarship audition on April 23rd, Sunday, from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the Second Presbyterian Church of Bloomington, Illinois. McLean county students in grades 8-11 who play an orchestral instrument are eligible to audition for the following scholarships:

$500 - The Brenda Azinger Memorial Scholarship - 1st place
$400- 2nd place
$300- 3rd place

These scholarships will be applied toward private lessons with area professional musicians. Audition procedures require that students prepare a solo that is no longer than 5 minutes. Two judges will write a critique of the performance based on some of the following criteria: accuracy to rhythm, tone quality, articulation, bowing, musicianship, intonation, and choice of literature.

Thank you Guild members for making these scholarships available to our youth who are the future of tomorrow's symphonies.
