Jason Yoder Percussion -
Jason Yoder is an Orchestral Timpanist and Percussionist who travels frequently across the country and abroad to perform. Jason recently moved back to the US after living for a year and a half in Korea. During that time, he held the positions of Principal Timpani with the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra in Daejeon, and Principal Timpani with the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) Symphony Orchestra in Seoul. While in Korea he also performed as guest Principal Timpanist with Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. Back in the US, Jason has performed with groups such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and Fort Wayne Philharmonic, among others.
Jason was born in Chicago, starting percussion at the age of 11 with the Percussion Scholarship Program of the Negaunee Music Institute. He received his BA in Music from Carnegie Mellon University, MAfrom Temple University, and a Graduate Certificate from DePaul University. After finishing school, he held both Percussion and Timpani positions with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Beyond orchestral playing, Jason performed a duet with Yo-Yo Ma at the G20 Summit in Pittsburgh, as well as with Alisa Weilerstein at the White House for Classical Music Appreciation Day. He has also appeared as a soloist with the National Repertory Orchestra and the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra. In his free time, Jason loves exploring new restaurants and foods, cooking, and playing ultimate frisbee.
