Springfield Guild

The Illinois Symphony Guild of Springfield’s mission is to support the Illinois Symphony Orchestra by promoting its activities, raising funds for its benefit and fostering the art of music through educational projects. We invite anyone who is interested to join us—no auditions or musical talent is required! Our membership consists of men and women who share an enthusiasm and appreciation of the ISO’s contributions to our cultural and educational landscape.

What We Do:

Fundraising Efforts

The Guild hosts fundraising activities throughout the year including our largest event, the Spring Gala featuring dinner, silent and live auctions, and exciting entertainment.

Youth Outreach

Music Matters! is our award-winning classroom presentation for all students in Kindergarten – 6th grade organized by the Guild and taught by ISO musicians.

Concerts for Kids! Central Illinois students attend a live ISO concert geared for young listeners at the concert hall. The Guild provides a lunch for the ISO musicians

Music Scholarships Guild scholarships are awarded annually to promising music students in grades 6 – 12 to help them pay for summer music camps or private lessons.

Rehearsal Dinners

Guild members host dinners for musicians of the ISO during our Symphony Orchestra concert cycles between the Thursday afternoon and evening rehearsals. These dinners allow musicians of the ISO a chance to mingle with other musicians, members of the Guild, and guest conductor and assistant conductor of the ISO.

Symphony Suppers

The Guild organizes pre-concert dinners at UIS’s PAC Restaurant for those attending the performances.

Musician Housing

Guild members volunteer to host musicians in their homes during concert weeks. This helps save the ISO money on lodging orchestra members.

Post-Concert Receptions

Following each symphony concert, the Guild provides refreshments in the lobby for the audience, the musicians, and the conductor to mingle and enjoy the concert’s afterglow.

Social Events

Guild members share a common love of orchestral music and value the ISO’s contribution to our community. We enjoy each other’s company, and Guild events and parties are well attended.
