Dance the night away and enjoy the rhythmic sounds of Cuba at A Night in Havana!

Join the Illinois Symphony Guild of Bloomington-Normal, Board of Directors, along with its Honorary Chairs Debra and Daniel Brownstone and Event Chairs E. Paula Crowley Deneen and Dan Deneen for a sizzling night of dancing, dining, music, and fun opportunities to support the orchestra through live and silent auctions and more.

This hot Havana night is hosted by your celebrity emcees, Dan Rutherford and Laura Kennedy, Arts Correspondent for WGLT, with special performances by our Principal Trumpet Amy Gilreath, Principal Timpani David Collier, and the ISU Jazz Ensemble directed by Thomas Marko.

Menu: Caribbean-inspired, gluten-free meal of Cuban-Style Beef and Jerk Chicken. If you make your reservation online, please select “standard” if you would like the Caribbean inspired menu or “vegan” for Caribbean inspired vegan option.

What would a night in Havana be without rum & cigars? Make the winning bid to take a bottle of Havana Club 7 Cubano rum and a box of 25 hand-rolled Cohida Esplendido cigars. It’s the “perfect marriage” of centuries of island tradition. These items are not available for purchase in the US and are donated by Global Travel Relations, owner Dan Rutherford.

Dine with ISU’s President Larry Dietz and his wife, Mrs. Marlene Dietz, at the lovely ISU President’s home. Dinner is for eight guests and to be set on a mutual agreeable date with the Dietz’ and the winning bidder. Donated by Larry & Marlene Dietz.

Fine dining or good old-fashioned lake party fun! You pick because it’s all fun and games at The Kemp Family log cabin located on Lake Bloomington. This party for 8 includes a tour of the lake on their pontoon boat, with guests having the option to paddleboard, kayak, canoe, water-ski, or lay back and soak up the sun. The day will finish with a family-style cookout and beverages. The event is to be used during the summer of 2020 and is Chris Kemp, Julie Jenson, Rene and Jamie Shaffer and Toni and Scott Jenkins.

The Brown Ballroom is located in the Bone Student Center on the Illinois State University Campus. The Brown Ballroom is one of the largest rooms in the Bone Student Center and has recently undergone extensive remodeling. The Brown Ballroom includes a large stage, theatrical lighing, and a large screen. 

For your convenience, an hourly fee parking lot is located just behind the Bone Student Center, on Locust Street. Street parking is also available within walking distance around the facility. Please click here for a map to locate the parking lot behind the Bone Student Center.
